ICON Dance Company is Jen’s Dance Spot’s premier competition program designed for dancers who are ready to take their training and performance to the next level. ICON brings together passionate dancers who are committed to developing strong technique, artistic expression, and the discipline required for competitive performance.
Through focused training, performance opportunities, and competitive experiences, ICON dancers grow as confident performers while representing Jen’s Dance Spot with pride.
About ICON Dance Company
ICON Dance Company provides dedicated dancers with advanced training and opportunities to expand their experience beyond the traditional classroom. Throughout the season, ICON dancers work with industry professionals through conventions, master classes, and specialized choreography.
Dancers also have opportunities to audition for summer intensives and training programs both locally and across the country, allowing them to continue developing their skills and exploring the wider dance community.
Our goal is to create an environment where dancers are challenged, supported, and inspired to grow both technically and artistically.

Audition Information
Mandatory Clinic & Audition Schedule
Saturday May 30 – Audition Clinics
Dancers will learn the full audition process during their age-appropriate clinic.
- Ages 6-8: 1:30 PM – 2:30PM
- Ages 10–12: 9:00 PM – 12:00 PM
- Ages 13+: 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM
Sunday, May 31 – Auditions
- Ages 6-8: 1:30 PM – 2:30PM
- Ages 10–12: 9:00 PM – 12:00 PM
- Ages 13+: 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM
Friday June 5th – Mandatory Parent Meeting
- All parents: 6:30 PM
Audition Videos

Contemporary, Jazz, Tap Hip Hop and for ages 10+ ballroom
All audition dances are included in one video. You may fast-forward to your dancer’s desired audition category. Dancers should audition for all genres presented.
Ballet Portion
The ballet center and across-the-floor components will be taught live during the audition day and are not included in the video.
What to Expect
At auditions, dancers will be evaluated on:
- Flexibility
- Technique
- Musicality
- Memory
- Choreography
Audition Attire
- Black leotard
- Black leggings or shorts
- Proper dance shoes for each style (regular socks are not permitted)
- Hair slicked back in a bun
- Full-face performance makeup required
